This Christmas day's dog walk early morn

Gave me time to think when Christ was born,

When kings traversed the lands afar

Just guided by one lonely star.

The inns were full, no rooms existed
But Joseph he continually insisted
and space was found in that stable forlorn
Where the Christ child soon was to be born.

How lucky we are in life today,
Our children are not born in that way.
Except if you live under human oppression
In countries where dicators rule with agression.

So give a thought on this special day
To those that suffer in that way.
Mankind must live without division
No matter what colour, nationality or religion!

Afghanistan

After 20 years of fighting western world troops have abandoned their fight against the Taliban.  No lesson was learnt by "the powers that be" from the Russian withdrawal years before, a war that could not be won. Place yourself in the position of the families of all those soldiers that lost their lives for what now is a lost cause.

Many more lives will probably now also be lost as Taliban leaders seek out countrymen and women that worked for the western powers as well as those who do not comply with the strict code the Taliban demand of so called Islam.

Why do I have thoughts that a deal has been made by the western world with the Taliban? "We'll leave your country if you promise to form a stable Islamic government and not interfere nor take reprisals by inserting terrorists in our countries !"  Break the deal and we'll come back!

I do have great sympathy for those who have to tolerate the rule of the Taliban and do not wish to do so, but I know of no end solution to this plight
